Joe brings 54 years of working experience in the Financial Markets. He spent 3 years as the Money Market Trading Desk Manager, 12 years as the Lead Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, 4 years as Chairman of Assets/Liability Manager, and 35 years in Institutional Fixed Income Sales.

Joe is a member of the Board of Directors as well as Treasurer at Lake Quivira Country Club and is involved with Cross Lines Community Outreach.

He enjoys sailing, running, and outdoor activities.

Jim Brownfield

Jim brings 30 years of experience to Central States Capital Markets. From 1987 to 1994, he was Assistant Vice President of Municipal Trading at UMB. From 1994 to 2006, he was Vice President of Municipal Trading at Commerce Bank.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Jim is the past president and current member of the Kansas City Municipal Bond Club.

He is a trained leader in the Boy Scouts of America. He has been married for 29 years and has two children.

Kyle Buzzard

Kyle joined the Wichita branch office in October 2018. He has 5 years of experience in the financial industry and holds Series 7 and 50 Security Designations. Kyle will focus on Underwriting Municipal securities for Central States Capital Markets with primary responsibility for the Kansas market.

Kyle is a graduate of Missouri Southern University earning a bachelor's degree in Economics. Kyle and his wife reside in Wichita. He enjoys hunting, fishing and golf in his free time.

Bob Dorweiler

Bob started his career in 1979 in Des Moines specializing in municipal bonds and is still trading, underwriting and selling municipals. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Business degree in Finance and then got his M.B.A. from Drake University.

Bob and his wife, Jody, have three children and two grandchildren. He is an avid golfer in his free time.

Terry Everson

Terry has spent 30 years in the Securities Industry. He is Lead Underwriter and Financial Operating Officer for Central States Capital Markets.

Terry has a Bachelor of Administration degree with an emphasis in Accounting from Wichita State University. He also has 20 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Terry is designated as General Principal and a Financial and Operations Principal.

Stephen Freidell

Graduating from Emporia State University, Steve brings 42 years of experience to Central States CapitalMarkets.

He is a contributor to Land Line Magazine and a regular economic commentator on the Land Line Now radio show.

Steve is a prior Board Member and Treasurer at the Human Society of Greater Kansas City. He is married with three adult children and four grandchildren.

His hobbies include water sports and restoring 22 acres to an all-natural prairie reserve.

Steve holds a Series 7, 52, and 66 licenses.

Becky Gibb

Becky began her securities career in 1968 in the fixed income department of a regional brokerage firm in Des Moines, Iowa, assisting in the trading and underwriting of fixed income securities. In 1981, she was named Manager of Fixed Income Trading for that firm and assumed the supervisory responsibility for five traders who provided products and services to a sales force of approximately 250 investment representatives located in branch offices across the country and maintained that position until 1993.

Following a four year sabbatical from the securities business, Becky moved to Wichita, KS, and was employed by two regional brokerage firms as a fixed income trader. In 2004, she joined the Central States Capital Markets' team as an investment representative and Kansas municipal bond trader. Becky is a Municipal Securities Principal.

She is married with seven children, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren

Michael Horton

Mike Horton has been in the industry since 1982. In 2011, he became Partner-Branch Manager for Central States Capital Markets. From 2008-2011, he was Senior Vice President at DeWaay Financial Network. From 2001-2006, Mike was Senior Vice President-Branch Manager at M&I Brokerage Services. From 2001-2006, Mike was Senior Vice President of Gold Capital Management. From 1991-2001, he served as Senior Vice President for Davidson Securities, Inc. From 1985-1991, he was Vice President of J.O. Davidson & Associates, and from 1982-1985, he was an Investment Representative for J.O. Davidson & Associates.

Mike is a current board member and past president of the Air Capital Cosmopolitan Club, a member of Cosmopolitan International, a not-for-profit organization that raises money for diabetes. Mike served two terms as President of the Wichita Collegiate School Booster Club, raising money for all extra-curricular activities of the school.

Mike and his wife, Terri, have two children. He attended Wichita State University and holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. He enjoys playing golf.

Jim Lewis

Jim began his career in finance in 2014 when he became part of the Central States Capital Markets Consulting group. He earned a degree in Economics from Rockhurst University.

Jim holds a Series 7 and 63 security designation.

Casey McLiney

Casey began his banking career in 1999 working for community banks in Kansas. In 2002, he joined Dan Stepp at Gold Capital Management and began his career working with financial institutions and individuals throughout the country. Casey has helped many customers throughout the region with trading, portfolio management, fixed income analysis, asset/liability, and strategic planning. In 2006, he left Gold Capital and started working for a large Kansas Bank holding company.

In 2011, Casey joined Dan Stepp, Stephen Freidell, Jim McLaughlin and Michael Horton to help lead the acquisition and formation of Central States Capital Markets. Casey is very involved in the Kansas Bankers Association, Young Bankers of Kansas, Community Bankers of America, Ozark Bankers, and Missouri Bankers Association.

Casey earned a BSG Degree from the University of Kansas. Casey is married to Carrie McLiney and they have six great children.

Jim McLaughlin

Jim began his investment career in 1975 at Commerce Bank of Kansas City in their Bond/Investment Division. He moved to MCM/Gold Capital Management in 1996 with many of his current team as a Partner at Central States Capital Markets in 2011.

He advises individual and institutional clients in the Midwest on portfolio management and technical market analysis.

Jim earned his BSBA from Rockhurst University, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Economics. He is a panelist/presenter at several ABA and state banking association seminars. He has been active in several church, school, and civic organizations over the years.

Jim and his wife, Joanie, are parents of five children and have seven grandchildren.

Ryan McLaughlin

Ryan has been in the investment industry for over six years. Prior to his investment career, he worked for nine years in commercial construction management, business development, and estimating.

Ryan holds a degree in Marketing with a Minor in Economics and Spanish from Marquette University. He is an active member of the State Bank and Trust Association and holds both a Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Ryan is married to Laura, and they have one young son and one young daughter. He loves the outdoors and enjoys golf, running, hiking, fly-fishing, and barbecuing. Ryan is a high school and youth lacrosse coach, a US Lacrosse Regional Board Member (where he was the past president), is a Habitat for Humanity Volunteer, and a Project Uplift Volunteer.

Sally Nelson

Sally Nelson joined the Central States Capital Markets team in May 2018. She brings 10 years of banking experience with her, 9 of which were with Fideltiy Bank in Wichita. Sally manages the cashiering and back office operations in the Wichita branch office and holds a series 99 security designation.

Sally and her husband, Jimmie, have been married 8 years and have one son. They enjoy fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors as a family.

Dale began his career as a bank examiner with the OCC and then transferred to the private sector specializing in treasury and fixed income portfolio management.

He held leadership positions with several regional banking firms and managed bond portfolios through five interest rate cycles.

Dale joined Central States Capital Markets in 2013 and served as a customer focused investment representative.

He received an MBA from the University of Kansas and holds Series 7, 24, 52, 63, and 65 security designations.

Dan Stepp

Dan brings over 40 years of investment expertise to Central States Capital Markets. He is a past president of the Kansas City Municipal Bond Club and has been actively involved in committee work with the Kansas Bankers Association. He also served on the District 4 Committee for FINRA.

Dan began his investment career with Commerce Bank of Kansas City as a Trader/Underwriter in 1971. He moved to A.F. Stepp Investments Inc. in 1973 where he was involved in trading, underwriting and sales. In 1987, Dan was appointed Senior Vice President and Manager of the Investment Department of Security Bank of Kansas. He also managed the Bank's proprietary investment account. In 1996 Dan was co-founder of Midwest Capital Management which was later purchased by Gold Bank in 1998. Gold Bank merged with M&I Bank in 2006 and was subsequently purchased by DeWaay Financial Network in 2007. In January of 2011, he and the core group of Midwest Capital Management bought DeWaay to form Central States Capital Markets.

Dan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Kansas and is a graduate of the Public Institute of the University of Michigan. Dan is the proud father of four and has six grandchildren.

Sandra K. Stump

Sandra has been in the industry for 34 years. She began her career in 1983 with R.G. Dickinson & Company, a regional brokerage firm. In 1993, the Wichita branch became Riedl & Co., and later Riedl First Securities. She moved to J.O. Davidson in 2001, now the Wichita branch of Central States Capital Markets, LLC. Sandy is a General Securities Representative and a General Securities Principal.

During her career, Sandy has specialized in the trading, marketing, and pricing of municipal and corporate securities. She has extensive experience in the marketing of equities and mutual funds. Sandy takes pride in helping clients achieve their goals. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wichita State University, double majoring in Administration of Justice (pre-law) and Sociology.

Sandy was selected as one of the up and coming young business professionals in the Wichita Business Journal's "40 under 40." She is an active volunteer in her church, the United Way of the Plains, her sorority (Gamma Phi Beta, who awarded her the IIKE Award and the Donna Jabara Baker award for her outstanding contributions. Sandy is a member of the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization and the Wichita State University Alumni Association. She is an avid Wichita State University Shocker fan!

Sandy and her husband, Mark, have been married over 30 years and have two sons. She enjoys traveling, hiking, Shockers, Chiefs, Cowboys, and Royals.

Dennis Wagner

Dennis has spent 40 years in the financial field with experience in Corporate Cash Management, Portfolio Management, and Fixed Income Trading (Agencies, Mortgages/CMO's, Treasuries, and Municipals).

He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Business Administration and holds Series 7 and 63 Professional Licenses.

In his spare time, Dennis is a scout leader and volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America as well as the Shawnee Mission Schools.

Dennis is married and has three children.

Wade has been a Portfolio Manager since 1987. He received his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Kansas State University.

Ben Young

Ben Young began his career in 1999 by completing an internship with Midwest Capital Management while in college. He now has 19 years of experience in the Fixed Income Securities industry, focusing on both retail and institutional clients. Ben specializes in Taxable and Tax-Exempt Municipal Bonds, US Government and Agency, and Corporate and Mortgage-Backed Securities. He also specializes in equity and specialty products for individual wealth management.

Ben is active in several Midwest Community Banking Organizations and is an active top fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Finance and Business Communication from Arizona State University. Ben holds his Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 securities licenses.

Robert Young

Robert (Bob) Young began his career with A.F. Stepp Investments, Inc., Kansas City, MO, in 1971, specializing in Bank Portfolio Management and Municipal Bond Sales. In 1980, he joined Bankers Trust Company, Des Moines, IA, as Vice President and Director of Investments.

In 1984, he chartered Ruan Securities Corporation where he served as Chairman of the Board and President. In 1994, he was offered an ownership opportunity with the largest crop insurer in the world, Rain and Hail Insurance Service, Inc. He served as President until he retired in May 2006.

In September 2006, Young came out of retirement to help establish another private broker-dealer serving as Chairman of the Institutional Fixed Income Division until May 2010. He joined Northland Securities in January 2011 as Managing Director and Head of the Central Division and established branch offices in Des Moines and Denver. He joined Central States Capital Markets in November 2017 as a Partner and serves as Chairman of the Board.

Bob attended Northeast Missouri State University, served as a tutor for the University of Wisconsin School of Banking, and received his Certified Financial Planner designation from the College for Financial Planning in 1979. He currently serves on the International Board of Directors of the Vintage Thunderbird Club International, is President of the Hawkeye Mercedes Benz Club, former President of the Hawkeye Classic Thunderbird Club, Board Member of Coaches vs. Cancer, The Classic Thunderbird Club International, Mercy Hospital Foundation, and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Foundation. He served on the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Consolidated School District's Financial Oversight Board. Bob is a member of the Iowa Investment Bankers Association and former member of the Kansas City Municipal Bond Club.

Bob and his wife, Diane, have four children. Bob has earned Series 7, Series 24, Series 53 , and Series 63 securities designations.

Mike Horton has been in the industry since 1982. In 2011, he became Partner-Branch Manager for Central States Capital Markets. He now has 19 years of experience in the Fixed Income Securities industry, focusing on both retail and institutional clients. Ben specializes in Taxable and Tax-Exempt Municipal Bonds, US Government and Agency, and Corporate and Mortgage-Backed Securities. He also specializes in equity and specialty products for individual wealth management.

Ben is active in several Midwest Community Banking Organizations and is an active top fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Finance and Business Communication from Arizona State University. Ben holds his Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 securities licenses.

Robert (Bob) Young began his career with A.F. Stepp Investments, Inc., Kansas City, MO, in 1971, specializing in Bank Portfolio Management and Municipal Bond Sales. In 1980, he joined Bankers Trust Company, Des Moines, IA, as Vice President and Director of Investments.

In 1984, he chartered Ruan Securities Corporation where he served as Chairman of the Board and President. In 1994, he was offered an ownership opportunity with the largest crop insurer in the world, Rain and Hail Insurance Service, Inc. He served as President until he retired in May 2006.

In September 2006, Young came out of retirement to help establish another private broker-dealer serving as Chairman of the Institutional Fixed Income Division until May 2010. He joined Northland Securities in January 2011 as Managing Director and Head of the Central Division and established branch offices in Des Moines and Denver. He joined Central States Capital Markets in November 2017 as a Partner and serves as Chairman of the Board.

Bob attended Northeast Missouri State University, served as a tutor for the University of Wisconsin School of Banking, and received his Certified Financial Planner designation from the College for Financial Planning in 1979. He currently serves on the International Board of Directors of the Vintage Thunderbird Club International, is President of the Hawkeye Mercedes Benz Club, former President of the Hawkeye Classic Thunderbird Club, Board Member of Coaches vs. Cancer, The Classic Thunderbird Club International, Mercy Hospital Foundation, and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Foundation. He served on the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Consolidated School District's Financial Oversight Board. Bob is a member of the Iowa Investment Bankers Association and former member of the Kansas City Municipal Bond Club.

Bob and his wife, Diane, have four children. Bob has earned Series 7, Series 24, Series 53 , and Series 63 securities designations.
