Joe brings 54 years of working experience in the Financial Markets. He spent 3 years as the Money Market Trading Desk Manager, 12 years as the Lead Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, 4 years as Chairman of Assets/Liability Manager, and 35 years in Institutional Fixed Income Sales.

Joe is a member of the Board of Directors as well as Treasurer at Lake Quivira Country Club and is involved with Cross Lines Community Outreach.

He enjoys sailing, running, and outdoor activities.

Jim Brownfield

Jim brings 30 years of experience to Central States Capital Markets. From 1987 to 1994, he was Assistant Vice President of Municipal Trading at UMB. From 1994 to 2006, he was Vice President of Municipal Trading at Commerce Bank.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Jim is the past president and current member of the Kansas City Municipal Bond Club.

He is a trained leader in the Boy Scouts of America. He has been married for 29 years and has two children.

With over 10 years in investment banking and commercial real estate finance, Rob Crotty serves the investment banking and finance needs of for profit and nonprofit developers, helping them raise capital through private placements, for construction, bridge and permanent financing. He also arranges government agency insured financings for market rate and affordable multifamily housing, as well as skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, independent living and active adult facilities.

Rob earned his BA degree, cum laude, from Tulane University and his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Rob is a registered representative in Ohio and holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, 52, 53, 54, 66, 72, 79, and 82 licenses.

Bob Dorweiler

Bob started his career in 1979 in Des Moines specializing in municipal bonds and is still trading, underwriting and selling municipals. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Business degree in Finance and then got his M.B.A. from Drake University.

Bob and his wife, Jody, have three children and two grandchildren. He is an avid golfer in his free time.

Jeremy Dunning

Jeremy began his career with the Central States Capital Markets team in April of 2021, bringing over 10 years of business management experience with him. He has worked with companies both large and in the startup stage, specializing in developing and improving customer service experiences.

He and his wife Allison, have two young children. They love spending time at the Kansas City Zoo and playing tennis.

Jeremy holds the Series 7, 66, and 52 designations and works with both individuals and businesses on their investment needs.

Terry has spent 30 years in the Securities Industry. He is Lead Underwriter and Financial Operating Officer for Central States Capital Markets.

Terry has a Bachelor of Administration degree with an emphasis in Accounting from Wichita State University. He also has 20 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Terry is designated as General Principal and a Financial and Operations Principal.

Graduating from Emporia State University, Steve brings 42 years of experience to Central States CapitalMarkets.

He is a contributor to Land Line Magazine and a regular economic commentator on the Land Line Now radio show.

Steve is a prior Board Member and Treasurer at the Human Society of Greater Kansas City. He is married with three adult children and four grandchildren.

His hobbies include water sports and restoring 22 acres to an all-natural prairie reserve.

Steve holds a Series 7, 52, and 66 licenses.

Omar Ganoom

With over 35 years in investment banking and government, Omar Ganoom is a highly experienced banker in our Public Finance Group and works primarily with states, counties, municipalities, institutions of higher education, healthcare providers, 501(c)(3) organizations, school districts, and utility municipal issuers in raising capital through debt financing.

Omar has been a State of Ohio Licensed School Treasurer and serves as Chairman/President on the board of the Ohio Municipal Advisory Council. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and has been awarded the U.S. Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge, which is the highest honor civilians/military can earn. Omar has been an Adjunct Professor teaching graduate level courses in public finance at The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and received a Master of Public Administration degree from The Ohio State University.

Omar holds the FINRA Series 7, 52, 63, 79, and 82 licenses.

Michael Horton

Mike Horton has been in the industry since 1982. In 2011, he became Partner-Branch Manager for Central States Capital Markets. From 2008-2011, he was Senior Vice President at DeWaay Financial Network. From 2001-2006, Mike was Senior Vice President-Branch Manager at M&I Brokerage Services. From 2001-2006, Mike was Senior Vice President of Gold Capital Management. From 1991-2001, he served as Senior Vice President for Davidson Securities, Inc. From 1985-1991, he was Vice President of J.O. Davidson & Associates, and from 1982-1985, he was an Investment Representative for J.O. Davidson & Associates.

Mike is a current board member and past president of the Air Capital Cosmopolitan Club, a member of Cosmopolitan International, a not-for-profit organization that raises money for diabetes. Mike served two terms as President of the Wichita Collegiate School Booster Club, raising money for all extra-curricular activities of the school.

Mike and his wife, Terri, have two children. He attended Wichita State University and holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. He enjoys playing golf.

Sandra K. Stump

Sandra has been in the industry for 34 years. She began her career in 1983 with R.G. Dickinson & Company, a regional brokerage firm. In 1993, the Wichita branch became Riedl & Co., and later Riedl First Securities. She moved to J.O. Davidson in 2001, now the Wichita branch of Central States Capital Markets, LLC. Sandy is a General Securities Representative and a General Securities Principal.

During her career, Sandy has specialized in the trading, marketing, and pricing of municipal and corporate securities. She has extensive experience in the marketing of equities and mutual funds. Sandy takes pride in helping clients achieve their goals. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wichita State University, double majoring in Administration of Justice (pre-law) and Sociology.

Sandy was selected as one of the up and coming young business professionals in the Wichita Business Journal's "40 under 40." She is an active volunteer in her church, the United Way of the Plains, her sorority (Gamma Phi Beta, who awarded her the IIKE Award and the Donna Jabara Baker award for her outstanding contributions. Sandy is a member of the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization and the Wichita State University Alumni Association. She is an avid Wichita State University Shocker fan!

Sandy and her husband, Mark, have been married over 30 years and have two sons. She enjoys traveling, hiking, Shockers, Chiefs, Cowboys, and Royals.

Dennis Wagner

Dennis has spent 40 years in the financial field with experience in Corporate Cash Management, Portfolio Management, and Fixed Income Trading (Agencies, Mortgages/CMO's, Treasuries, and Municipals).

He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Business Administration and holds Series 7 and 63 Professional Licenses.

In his spare time, Dennis is a scout leader and volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America as well as the Shawnee Mission Schools.

Dennis is married and has three children.

Dan Stepp

Principal
Dan brings over 40 years of investment expertise to Central States Capital Markets. He is a past president of the Kansas City Municipal Bond Club and has been actively involved in committee work with the Kansas Bankers Association. He also served on the District 4 Committee for FINRA.

Dan began his investment career with Commerce Bank of Kansas City as a Trader/Underwriter in 1971. He moved to A.F. Stepp Investments Inc. in 1973 where he was involved in trading, underwriting and sales. In 1987, Dan was appointed Senior Vice President and Manager of the Investment Department of Security Bank of Kansas. He also managed the Bank's proprietary investment account. In 1996 Dan was co-founder of Midwest Capital Management which was later purchased by Gold Bank in 1998. Gold Bank merged with M&I Bank in 2006 and was subsequently purchased by DeWaay Financial Network in 2007. In January of 2011, he and the core group of Midwest Capital Management bought DeWaay to form Central States Capital Markets.

Dan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Kansas and is a graduate of the Public Institute of the University of Michigan. Dan is the proud father of four and has six grandchildren.

Ben Young began his career in 1999 by completing an internship with Midwest Capital Management while in college. He now has 19 years of experience in the Fixed Income Securities industry, focusing on both retail and institutional clients. Ben specializes in Taxable and Tax-Exempt Municipal Bonds, US Government and Agency, and Corporate and Mortgage-Backed Securities. He also specializes in equity and specialty products for individual wealth management.

Ben is active in several Midwest Community Banking Organizations and is an active top fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Finance and Business Communication from Arizona State University. Ben holds his Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 securities licenses.

Robert (Bob) Young began his career with A.F. Stepp Investments, Inc., Kansas City, MO, in 1971, specializing in Bank Portfolio Management and Municipal Bond Sales. In 1980, he joined Bankers Trust Company, owned by the Ruan Family, Des Moines, IA. He initially served as Vice President and Director of Investments.

In 1984, he chartered Ruan Securities Corporation where he served as Chairman of the Board and President. In 1994, Bob served as Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Rain and Hail, and as President of their private Broker-Dealer subsidiary, Agri General Securities Corporation, until he retired in 2006.

In September of 2006, Young came out of retirement to help establish another private broker-dealer serving as Chairman of the Institutional Fixed Income Division until December 2010. He joined Northland Securities in January 2011 as Managing Director and head of the Central Division and established branch offices in Des Moines and Denver. He joined Central States Capital Markets in 2017 as an equity Partner and serves as Chairman of the Board.

Bob attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) from 1967-1971, served as a tutor for the University of Wisconsin School of Banking and received his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1979. He has served on the International Boards of Directors of the Vintage and Classic Thunderbird Club, is President of the Hawkeye Mercedes Benz Club, past President of the Hawkeye Thunderbird Club, Porsche Club, and Mustang Club. Bob has served as a Board Member for the Iowa Chapter of Coaches vs. Cancer, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Foundation Board, Adel-DeSoto, Minburn Consolidated School District Financial Oversight Board and Mercy Hospital Foundation Board.He and his wife, Diane, have four children.

Corey Reece

Corey joined the Central States Capital Markets team in February of 2024. Formerly working at a CPA firm, as well as a bank, he brings a great background of working closely with clients developing investment strategies to help them achieve their financial goals. Corey is a true Midwesterner growing up in the Kansas/Oklahoma area where he has spent his entire life. He graduated from Arkansas City High School and attended Sterling College where he was a part of the men’s golf team. Besides golf he enjoys fishing, hunting and hiking. Corey and his wife are parents to two very active young boys.

Corey holds the following licenses: Series 7 and 66 as well as the SIE and is working in CSCM’s Wichita branch.
